We are excited to announce that the 4th Grade Grandfather Mountain Field Trip is back on for March 15, 2024 following several years off due to the pandemic. We’re so excited to bring this back for our students and teachers!
What is it? A full-day field trip via coach buses to Grandfather Mountain outside of Boone, NC. This is a fantastic opportunity for our kiddos to enjoy NC’s natural environment, see first-hand some of the geologic (rock) formations they’ve learned about in science class and experience the thrill of the park’s Mile High Swinging Bridge (ah!). You’ll be receiving a more detailed document with information about the trip and permission slips as we get closer to the trip.
How can you help now? Fundraising! Trips like this require additional resources to pay for bussing and other incidentals. Our 4th grade students will be hosting a Hot Chocolate stand on February 14th at 2:15pm outside of school as well as collaborating on several other kid-led fundraisers, but extra support is necessary to make this a success.
Specifics: We’re asking that willing families share this letter template with their families, employers and other members of their community who may be interested in helping. Every dollar we raise together goes directly to the cost of this trip, making it affordable (maybe even free!) for each student. Feel free to edit this and have your student share what excites them most, too!
