The Parent Teacher Association supports the teachers, students and school by raising funds, planning events, and coordinating family involvement. We work together to help our Forest View community thrive. To keep our community thriving, we need to continue to grow our membership and include new faces, ideas, and talent each year.
From PTA President, Liz Snyder:
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year and to the Forest View community! I am your PTA president, Liz Snyder. I have 4th grader and a Forest View alum. This will be another challenging year but as a PTA we will continue to facilitate communication, build community and support our school in any way we can. In an ever-complicated world PTAs are more important than ever. We help to connect parents, teachers and administrators as well as support critical school needs. We are excited to work with our new principal Ms. Felicia Sledge.
PTA memberships need to be renewed each year. Please join us in supporting Forest View and officially join the PTA by paying the annual PTA dues of $5. This raises money for state and national PTA work as well as for our school. You can do this at our member hub site https://forestviewpta.memberhub.store/shopping/categories/2023 This site can also be used to purchase T-shirts and car magnets, as well as donate to the UnFundraiser.
The Forest View PTA’s main source of income is our annual “UnFundraiser” which will kick off in the fall. Instead of asking families to sell or buy something, we ask you to contribute what you can, one time. The money that your PTA raises supports classroom teachers, specials programs, our media center, cultural arts programming, outdoor learning/gardening, technology and much more. We will work closely with Forest View staff to support them so they can best support your children. Another easy way we also earn money is by partnering with local restaurants and participating in retail rewards. Information for all the ways you can help can earn funds through retail rewards is on this websites fundraising tab.
Volunteers are a vital part of the PTAs work. They enable the PTA to provide support and plan events. There are many opportunities to get involved at the school. We look forward to meeting and working with you. This year we are hoping to grow our new Parents of African American Children (PAAC) group. Our PAAC is a subcommittee of the PTA and aims to encourage and support the engagement of Black families as well as advocate for Black children. We are looking for parents to help us grow and shape our PAAC, please reach out if you are interested. ptaforestviewelementary[at]gmail.com
