Are you looking for a way to get involved, meet new people, and support our school? Consider one of the following opportunities:
Fall Festival, Saturday, October 12, 2019. This is a day full of carnival fun: Games! Crafts! and Food! The Festival is created and run by Forest View families. Although there are minimal charges for tickets, it is not a fundraiser. The goal of the Fall Festival is to have fun with our community. We’ll have several dozen ticketed games and activities and are looking for 80+ volunteers to help us run the Festival: Sell tickets! Run a game! Make crafts with the kids! No skills or special training required. Dedicate 1 1/2 hours of your time to a festival shift! Or work behind the scenes for set up or break down.

Forest View Art Room Volunteer
Looking for a creative way to volunteer at Forest View? Consider helping out in the Art Room! Come on a weekly, monthly, or every-so-often basis to help with art projects, prep materials, or hang student artworks. It’s a great way to see Forest View imaginations at work. No art experience is necessary. Contact Ashley Weinard (Ashley.Weinard[at]dspnc.net) if you are interested.
Forest View Media Center. We need 3-5 weekly volunteers to help keep open circulation running for the students and staff in 2019-20. We lost several long serving volunteers due to cross country moves and full time job opportunities. If interested, please contact Kathleen Graves at kathleen.hill-graves[at]dpsnc.net or 560-3932.
Grants Committee– Work with a small group of PTA officers and teachers to identify and write school-wide grants. Our school has been awarded national and local grants for a range of programs, activities, and school improvements including our Kindergarten and Courtyard Gardens, art supplies and enrichment, field trips, classroom technology, and our science lab. These grants enrich our school environment and programming, and we want to continue with our success!
Room Parent -Sign up to be a room parent and support your classroom teacher. Look for the sign up sheet in your child’s classroom at Meet and Greet in August or contact our 2019-2020 Room Parent coordinator, Julie Carrow.
PTA Website- We need people to help gather Forest View stories, write blog posts about our community events throughout the year, and help with website design and editing. Submit event photos or story ideas by email.
