Fundraising for Forest View

Curious about how to give back to Forest View? Here’s everything you need to know to turn your everyday spending into support for Forest View Elementary.

SHOP + EARN: These corporate partners donate directly to our PTA when you shop with them. Sign up below, share with friends and family and sit back as we earn dollars for our school.

  1. NEW: MemberHub Give Backs: Add the Give Backs Chrome extension to your computer browser and on your phone. Once you’re set up, you’ll receive cash back on your shopping at tons of places including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Old Navy and LOCAL businesses as well. In addition to earning cash back for your family, Give Backs sends a donation straight to our PTA programming! And, if you’re inclined, you can also donate your earnings straight back to the PTA as well.   1. HARRIS TEETER: Link your VIC card annually to their Together in Education program to earn money while you shop. Visit https://bit.ly/3bqwXEH or stop by their customer service desk for help. Our school code is 3720.

  1. OFFICE DEPOT: When you shop mention Forest View at checkout and we will get 5% of the sales to use on supplies. School Code: 70060909
  1. TERRACYCLE: New to 2022, we’ll be asking families to save and bring in their used office items for our special recycling program (think pens, markers, glue sticks, paint sets, etc.). We get to feel good about keeping them out of landfills and our school gets paid for our effort! We’ll be sharing more specifics about what items we are collecting and where soon.
  1. MINTED.COM: Thinking of ordering holiday cards this year? Minted offers Forest View families 20% off their purchases and donates 15% of every eligible purchase to our PTA.  Use code: FUNDRAISEFORESTVIEW
  1. CRAYONS TO CALCULATORS: Not a fundraiser, per se, but a fantastic local nonprofit that provides our teachers with FREE school supplies. We rely on Forest View families to help pack and distribute orders, so please email ptaforestviewwlementary@gmail.com if you would like to help.
  1. FOREST VIEW SWAG: We’ve got a brand new design this year! We aim to keep our swag affordable, but a small portion goes back to the PTA’s programming. Come check out (and buy) a t-shirt, tote bag or car magnet at the PTA booth or email us to order one directly!
  1. YOUR EMPLOYER: Many companies will match your donations, so we encourage you to look into your company’s policy!

RESTAURANT SPIRIT EVENTS: We are lucky to partner with a number of local restaurants that generously donate a portion of sales on a given day to our PTA. Upcoming Spirit Events include:

  1. September 15 – La Vaquita Taqueria. Make sure to tell ‘em you’re with Forest View to ensure we get 5% of all sales! https://www.lavaquitadurham.com/ **This date may change!

THE UNFUNDRAISER:This is our biggest fundraising event for the year. We won’t ask your student  to sell wrapping paper or magazine subscriptions – we promise. Instead, we ask families to donate what they can (any amount is appreciated – from $1 to $100 or more!). This year we’ll kick off our Fall campaign with a community picnic. Look for more information about the picnic and Unfundraiser dates in our newsletter and Seesaw messages from school in early September.
