OVERVIEW. Forest View is fortunate again this year to have the opportunity to staff a concessions stand at all Duke home football and men’s basketball games. The game schedules will be posted as soon as we receive them in early fall.
Our PTA receives a percentage of all sales from the stand. Last year we raised more than $12,000, all of which went directly to the PTA and classroom projects. Especially with budget cuts, these funds are crucially important to our teachers, and have a direct impact on our kids’ educations.
The logistics are easy for volunteers: we provide you with a parking pass, stadium entry pass, plenty of training on how to pour sodas and sling pizza, and a free t-shirt to wear. It’s a fun way to volunteer, and we encourage you to work with friends or family. Your middle- or high-schooler can earn volunteer hours, and we love having energetic teenagers helping in the stand. We can also have a limited number of 3rd-5th graders in the stand for football, if your Forest View student is eager to help.
For the long-term thinkers out there, priority for the best basketball games goes to volunteers who have worked games previously. Generally, to work the Duke-UNC basketball game, volunteers need to have worked at least one football game and two basketball games.

Thanks to everyone who has helped in the past, and we look forward to working with you this season!
