A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the 2017 Fall Festival a huge success! We really appreciate the more than 80 volunteers and teachers who ran games, got “flushed,” served popcorn, carried tables and toilets, took down pennants, organized and manned the 4th grade lemonade stand and helped in so many other ways. A special thank you to Music Teacher Ms. Davis for her bluegrass tunes that added to the festive atmosphere. And if you see Ms. Xenia, one of our awesome Forest View custodians, please give her a special thank you for staying well beyond to clean the floors and make the building ready again for classes on Monday. It was a record turnout, and the occasional sprinkle didn’t keep the Forest View community from having a great time indoors and out. Check out this video put together by Forest Views newsletter editor Eric Ferreri to see the fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0eO-lFewhA#action=share
Congratulations to the winners of the Pumpkin and Gourd contests!
The Giant Pumpkin weighed 119 pounds. We had lots of close guesses of 120 and 121:
Kindergarten — Anderson, Francesca, Kai
1st grade — Losambo, Tinley, Sylvie, R’nya, Kara, John-Notobe
2nd grade — Chloe
3rd grade — Saratta, Nahom, Tonartzi,
4th grade — Lamar, Cameron
5th grade — Miley, Luke
There were some really fantastic decorated gourd entries this year. Everyone who brought in an entry is a winner to us, but since we had to choose, here’s what the judges decided:
K-2: Allysson Barahona-Pantoja “Funniest” 3-5th: Leo Rainey “The Sink”
K-2: Eli Martin-Ellison “Zombie Brains” 3-5th: Blake Taylor ” Pump-dead kin”
Best in Show
K-2: Jack Bomar “The Legendary Sea Monster” 3-5th: Nora Plourde “Wizard of Oz”
Please take the gourd creations home! They are beautiful and creative, but they are also starting to rot. Unclaimed gourds will be discarded on Thursday morning.
Thanks again from your Forest View Fall Festival Committee
