Forest View is proud to offer several enrichment clubs for students before and after school for upper grades. See schedules of clubs below. As we learn of other club information it will be added here, so please check back.

Technology Club – Tuesdays, 8:15-9am, media center
Open to 4th & 5th graders
Coach, Brian Fannin,
If any adult volunteers are interested in participating please let Mr. Sennett
or Ms. Graves know. You do not need to be a software
developer or highly trained engineer to assist! Technology club teaches some coding skills, Google docs, and 3D printing.

Science Olympiad – Thursdays, 8-9am, location TBD
First meeting, Thursday, September 28
Open to 3rd-5th graders
Coaches, Eric Lipp, Lauren Greene
North Carolina Science Olympiad improves STEM Learning for all students and celebrates their efforts. NCSO events align with the NC Standard Course of Study and what teachers are already doing in the classroom. These events are well balanced between the various science disciplines, requiring knowledge of science facts, concepts, processes, skills and applications. Olympic-style medals are awarded to top placing individuals in each event. Team trophies are also awarded to top placing teams at each tournament. The main event is Saturday April 14th, 2018 at Southern School of Energy and Sustainability from 7:30-2:00.

Forest View Journalism Club – Fridays, 8-9am, Media Center
Open to 4th & 5th graders
Coach, Eric Ferreri,
The club contributes stories and photos to the print Forest View newsletter and students learn the basics about writing, reporting, asking good questions and generally being curious.

Chess Club – Fridays, 8-9am, Mr. Morrison’s Room, A-1
Open to 3rd-5th grades.
Coach, Mr. Morrison
Kids do not need any experience to come and have fun.
