Students advance to state math competition

Fifth-graders Layla Niblock and Elizabeth Lischer won first place in the Intermediate Division (5th and 6th grade) of NCCTM (North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics) Central Region Math Fair on April 9 in Asheboro, NC. Their project, The Mathematical Principles of DNA, won first place in the same division at the Durham County Math Fair in February. The state competition is May 13 at the NC School of Science and Mathematics in Durham.
