Forest View families and teachers help keep our community gardens looking good over the summer and work together to maintain our treasured outdoor learning spaces. They also get to enjoy those organic vegetables they pick! This week, families weeded the courtyard garden, picked cabbage, string beans, pole beans and spring onions. They also cleared a bed and planted cucumbers and watermelon.
Would you like to help in our community garden this summer? Contact marylu.flowers-schoen@dpsnc.net or jaherndodson@gmail.com with the days you are available so we can coordinate with Ms. Flowers and Ms. Green. You can contact Marylu Flowers after dark the night before you’d like to work in the garden, or see below for weekend dates you can choose to help us establish a schedule (mornings preferred). We welcome individuals, families, or even groups. (Grade level challenge, anyone?).
